A pump shotgun is so much better for killing and a long neck is so much better for tranq. I was mainly talking about taming. But for about 30 shots you need a total of 570 gunpowder. Which is a ton. Unless you got an extraordinary amount of patience or got a chemistry bench, its not worth it to make that much.
