Power is controlled by the TIPM (totally integrated power module), which is located under the hood, and the MCU is located next to it, on top of the air cleaner.

Jeez if that's what's been going on with mine I'm going to tear my hair out! I'm a mechanic as well. It would start working every time I messed with the relays, so I rewired it with 4 new relays. If it's just the battery I'm going to either scream or do a happy dance! It's a '15 so it's just getting into the butter zone of needing a battery.
