Through her research, Asiedu has explored the impact of institutions and governance on the effectiveness of international development assistance. If FDI promotes growth and reduces poverty (Asiedu and Gyimah-Brempong, 2008), then our results suggest that policies that reduce the infection rate will enhance development in SSA countries.
