Lawton R. Nuss is the father, son, and nephew of veterans—and a veteran himself. After four years as a Marine Corps combat engineering officer and 20 years as a trial attorney in Kansas's state and federal courts, he was appointed as a justice to the Kansas Supreme Court in 2002.
