The Chikage is amazing in pve and could absolutely wreak havoc on players during the more populated times. Min maxing the damage is a fun side task but absolutely unnecessary provided you have some semblance of ability with the games combat haha. My Chikage bloodtinge build was one of my favorite ways to play the game!

The thing is the highest attack damage the chikage can do is L1 then R1 straight away. It has something like a 1.5x modifier so its the attack that does the most damage. If running a pure bt build then minimum skill required for chikage and then pretty much every attack is an L1 into R1 then transform back to 1 handed rinse and repeat.The Chikage normally is a Katana that scales with the Skill stat. BLT build I would do with STR/SKL 14/15 and BLT 50 to use Bowblade, Chikage and Bloodletter. Evelyn is a must have of course. You can avoid dungeons, 22.3 gems from DLC should work okay. But you are basically right, Hunter Tools will give you some new options for certain situations or boss fights, whereas BLT build is just another shoot/melee ...
