The chest will then turn into a Crimson Mimic in a hardmode world that contains the Crimson. They can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or any of its upgrades. Like the Corrupt Mimic and the Hallowed Mimic, they do not resemble any actual ... Buddha. This is a TEdit issue, indeed. TEdit does not support modded tile with metadata / container logic. Sometimes it messes even up with Magic Storage (very rarely), but annihilates placed "vanilla like looking" chests from others mods entirely. Cannot be interacted with, can be destroyed, can be placed on the same spot, will be empty, tho.
