P365 takedown lever stuck.

When I reassembled the lever did not rotate back to the horizontal 3 o'clock position. It is now stuck at 7/5 o'clock. The slide sits about 1/8" from the back end of the frame, but racks ok and can be locked back with the release/catch. Also, can't get the slide off of the frame, now. Takedown of 365. Yesterday, I picked up a new P365! I'm thrilled. I wanted to do a takedown and clean and re grease before going to the range. I read the manual and watched a few videos on disassembly. I said slide lock, not the release. Sounds like a misalignment. Flip up the slide lock and try to man-handle it off by moving it back and forth until it gives, just be careful not to bend it sideways. UPDATE- I got the slide off of the frame but the FCU and the slide are still together and still in the open position. I have owned this P320 for a few months now, and have disassembled, cleaned and reassembled it several times. This time after I was just about to reattach the lever, I noticed the spring was in the way in the lever-hole, so when I redisassembled it, the frame assembly (the trigger etc) came off with the slide, instead of staying with the grip frame.

Mar 28, 2018 · The P365 uses a potentially weaker (smaller diameter rod) take down lever, but with a stronger metal pin arrangement that goes through the entire rear of the FCU and sits against the width of the grip just ahead of the beaver tail. This can work for occasional removal of the FCU.

The takedown lever should rotate down and when doing so pull the sear down with it so the slide clears it to install fully. The strut connected to the takedown lever should have a finger engaging the sear to pull it down when fully rotated. There is an internal safety lever that must be pressed down in order to remove the slide or get the slide reinstalled.My first guess may have been wrong, after reading your original post again. The takedown lever does rotate. The slide lock lever is locked into the up position. Probably got the wire spring jammed against the frame. Try taking out the chassis if possible, or even lift it up enough to free the jammed lever.6. Release the slide by either:a.
